Roger Tangen wins at M&J!!
Yesterday, Roger Tangen won over $4,000 at the M&J's Dead Money Open. The final table became a series of chopped pots to pare down the heavy difference between 1st place and the rest. 4th took down $2,500, 3rd - $3,500, and 2nd and 1st was a chop for over $4,000.
The biggest hands came before the final table for Roger as with $2K/$4K blinds he ended up calling an all-in with ATs ... Curt Hoffart had KK. But with a Q on the flop, J on the turn, and a King on the river, Roger made his straight and moved up to nearly $50,000 with about 25 left to play. From there he coasted into the money, and after a deal was made with 17 left, to give the bubble boy his money back, the play was fast and furious. However, with 13 people left, Roger had $4K in the SB with only $16K back. The pot was raised to $24K in front of him and he called all-in for $20K total with KQc, he was up against Ad5c. The flop was AcTcX, the river brought the 2c giving him the nuts and more than doubling him up to $48K. The next hand, the UTG player went all-in for $20K and Roger called with KJo. The UTG player had 88 and it was a race until the flop came AQT, flopping Roger the nuts once again. The next hand, Roger limps in for $8K and Chad Ransom moved all-in from the small blind for $11K total. Both the BB and Roger called the extra $3K. An Ace came on the turn and Roger bet $15K, making the BB fold. Ransom showed A7h, but Roger had AJ, and with a J on the river moved his stack, in 3 consecutive hands to $102K from $20K and moved to the final table in good shape, as average would be $80K.
Congratulations to Roger Tangen!!
