Nobody Makes the Right Play All of the Time

Nobody among us is good enough that they make the right decision every time they are forced to make one in poker, no matter the varying skill levels of each player. Be it the day, the moment, or just plain a wrong read, we all consistently make decisions that cost us in tournaments or cash games.

Therefore, it would behoove all of us to tone done or all together do away with our criticism at the tables of other people's play when they don't make the 'right' decision in our eyes. Whether or not it was the right decision, they made it for better or worse to their own stack.

Criticizing play of others only serves to drive anybody away who would wish to join a group of players such as our own. We would like to think that we are more than willing and open to allowing new players of all skill levels to join us and improve their game. Everybody among us could use improving in their game at any given time and none of us are above any others when it comes to making donkey moves.

So, please, do not berate other players at the tables or at any other time. It only serves to thwart new players coming into the game.

Thank You,

Corey Eslinger

I'm assuming the obvious exception of Mr. Hellmuth applies.

Thanks for posting this Corey. Something like this needs to be said in probably every league in existence.

i believe some criticism is ok, as long as its done in a respectful manner. will someone ever learn from their mistakes if they dont realize they are making one? no they will still fuck up, still lose their chips because of the same reason.

why do i say this? because i was that guy. i used to go all in way way too much, id either get called with a better hand or not get paid off when i had one. ya ok before i used to cash 10% of the time. now i cash close to 40-50% of the time. i also want to say a thanks to chris and charlie for giving me a nice kick in the ass, it has improved my game a lot, yeah ive ran great the last 4-5 months but just luck cant be the reason i cash in different tourneys or am consistently cashing from mahnomen to DRP to the gf bar scene.

lastly no one should berate someone at the table and alienate them, that isnt right. but you should talk about the whys and why nots he made that play at that time. learn, improve, play smarter and pay attention. everbody should improve their game and constructive criticism is just another way of doing so.

thanks
