$60 Bounty Tournament results

Jeb Johnson wins the $60 Bounty event. After what was a very slow moving tournament for much of the day, the final table accelerated rapidly to end the tournament at the $1000/$2000 blind levels - with $95,000 in chips in play, this was very early for any tournament to end.

There were 19 entrants, Jeb won 7 of the bounties (his own included), David Syvertson had 3 bounties, Bill Burgess, Eric Coughlin and Michael Syvertson each had 2, Jason Kramer, Eric Parvey, and Mark Lawson all had 1 each.

The first truly big hand was when Mark Lawson went all-in with 77, and Jeb called with AK, with an A on the flop and no help, Mark was first out at the final table, and Jeb had a monster stack well north of 20K. Play slowed, as some shorter stacks were eliminated with some tough beats, Nick Taralson, Bobi Joubert, and Pat Anderson were the next 3 out. Then Michael and David Syvertson went out in amazingly short order near the bubble in a matter of 3 hands. Both were around 2/3 to 1/4 of average stack at that point of the tournament.

Eric Coughlin, bubble boy himself, got 4th to cash, Eric Parvey slid into 3rd, and the battle of the 2 stacks ended with Jeb's QQ holding up vs. Bill's 77.

Preliminary plan for next tournament is a $50 buy-in with $10 towards bounties on the 23rd of April, a Sunday. Stay Tuned for any possible changes!

Jason Kramer wins the $30 PL Hold-em

Jason Kramer wins the $30 PL event. He had 19 people at the event, including 3 new people, Matt, John, and Rob. KK seemed to be the very unpopular hand to have this evening as it lost a large number of large pots.

Kramer survived his first all-in of the night as he and Jim got them all-in with AQ (Kramer) vs AJ (Jim) with A23 -- all clubs, but no one had a club, and no J came and Kramer doubled up and seemed to avoid any significant pots until later in the final table.

Unfortunately for Eric Coughlin he once again was busted on the bubble vs Kramer just after he was unable to have KQ hold up against K3, even after the flop gave him a heart flush draw, leaving Lowell with only 2 outs. But a non-heart 3 fell on the river.

Ended up Jim had Kramer all-in heads up with 77 vs Kramer's T6, but a T saved Kramer and shortly thereafter Kramer's 88 held up vs Jim's 33.

Our next tournament will be at Greg and Bobi's on Sunday, March 26th, at 1:00. This is a $60 ($50+$10) NL tournament including bounties. Every person you knock out, you receive $10.

Hope to see you all there!

$30 Pot Limit Hold-em on March 11th

Our next event is set for March 11th at Greg and Bobi's in south Fargo. The address is in the email that I sent out.

The exact time is not set as of it yet, but should be either 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon. One plan might be to take a couple vehicle (my van, another vehicle that can have a lot of people) and go to the casino after the event gets done around 8:00. Let me know if anybody is interested in this.

For those of you who have not played PL before, it may take a bit of getting used to. First of all, the pot size and how it's determined. The pot size includes all blinds, calls, and bets, including the amount needed to call the original bet before a person raises. For example, if the blinds are 100/200 and 1 person limps in for 200, and then you want to raise pot, you can raise 700 to 900. This includes the blinds, the one call, your amount of 200 that calls = $700. Another situation would be 100/200 blinds, 2 people limp for 200, 1 person raises 600 to 800, and now you want to raise pot. The pot is now $300+$400+$800+$800=$2300. So your raise can be to a total of $3100. Obviously by this last example, it shows that there can be huge jumps in raises by reraising the pot. Be careful then when you announce 'pot raise'.

Look forward to seeing everybody there!
