Dirty River crushes the Doublewood
30 showed up to play the $100 Doublewood tournament this past Saturday. Not surprising considering lack of advertisement and the absolutely beautiful weather - which there's been an absolute lack of. 7 regulars Dirty River players participated. JimWolf, Scott Eckert, Corey Eslinger, Jareb Raan, Tim Jacobs, Jon Shilling, and Jon Horner. As it would turn out, the top 4 finishers would be from this group.
2 of the Dirty River players were knocked out by their follow group members. Scott Eckert and Corey Eslinger both finished within a handful of people away from the final table. Tim Jacobs busted Scott and then Jon Shilling busted Corey with ducks on a A52T board with Corey holding AJ.
Jareb Raan survived early on at the final table when he moved all-in with KJd and was called with AK. Fortunately for him the board came all diamonds on the flop and he was able to double up there and then again a little later when he had AA vs Shilling's KQ.
Tim Jacobs nearly busted in 5th place after he moved all in from the SB with 86 only to be called by the BB holding A6. An 8 on the flop gave Tim the lead and the last two 6's in the deck gave him an unneeded full house and secure the top 4 spots for the Dirty River crew.
Hopefully there'll be bigger tournaments come this fall that Dirty River can try to do just as well at in the future.
